On line the last version of the FIPSed Calendar. Latest updates concern the new dates of the Feeder World Championship in France, which will take place on August 14 and 15, and the Coarse Angling for Clubs World Championship in Serbia, which will take place on October 16th and 17th.
Taking into account the serious health crisis that is still hitting in the whole world and being unable to determine how long this emergency that has led to several lockdown will continue, it is with great regret and against it
s will that FIPSed is forced to postpone the Coarse Angling World Championships for Disabled, Veterans and Masters. Therefore, we agreed with the Slovenian Federation for the following modification:
Disabled, Veterans and Masters Coarse Angling World Championship, scheduled in Slovenia on 4th and 5th June in Radece - Sava River – are shifted to 8th and 9th October 2021.
All other Championships scheduled after the date of June 15 are actually confirmed, but we reserve the possibility of future modifications, which might be needed for the pandemic developments. We apologize for all the inconveniences, but the health of us all and the protection of more vulnerable persons must be our first priority.
In consideration of the COVID 19 pandemic still persisting, FIPSed has decided to postpone to 2022 the 18th Ice Fishing World Championship, which was scheduled to take place in Lithuania next February 27 and 28 in Siauliai, Rekyva Lake. In agreement with the Lithuanian Federation, this latter will host the event in 2022. It is further understood that all future allocations for this competition will be shifted of one year. The official calendar will be soon updated. The decision also follows the consideration of the waiver of many National teams entailing the risk of not reaching a sufficient number of Nations, which is a condition for giving to the event the attribution of World Championship.
On line the up to dated sport calendar. The main recent modifications concern the 18th Carnivorous Artificial Baits Shore Angling World Championship which will take place this year in Bulgaria and in 2022 in Portugal (the host Federations have inverted the year). In fact, because of COVID restrictions, Portugal had to renounce this year and Bulgaria accepted to host it, but the event has to take place on August, 28 and 29, instead of May, in Devin, Vacha river.
Moreover, the Trout Fishing with Natural Baits World Championship has been postponed to August, while the host Federation remains France.
It is with great sadness that we learned the decease of Mr. Marcel Ordan, former President of FIPS-Mer before his election as President of the International Sport Fishing Confederation, charge that he covered from 2005 to 2013. The words are not strong enough to express our sorrow. On my name and of all the Steering Committee members would like to express to the family and relatives of Mr. Ordan, our support and sincere condolences. The friendship and collaboration that united us in life will not end with his loss and we will keep our collaboration with deep emotion in our hearts.
